CALGARY, November 29, 2025—Jyoti Gondek has officially declared her intention to seek re-election in 2025.
Since being elected, Gondek has been a steadfast champion for Calgary, addressing critical issues such as public safety, affordability, and infrastructure development. “Like anyone in a new job, I have experienced challenges and there were things I needed to learn,” Gondek said.
“I’ve learned many lessons, and I’m prepared to tackle the important work that needs to be done, including improving communication between City Hall and Calgarians, supporting those who need it most, cutting unnecessary red tape, and empowering business owners to do what they do best—drive innovation and strengthen our economy.
“All of this supports the work of continuing to build a safe, affordable and thriving city.”
Gondek has demonstrated strong leadership during critical events, including during the water feedermain break, saving the Greenline project in September, and most recently ensuring Budget 2025 focused on limited tax increases and protecting low income supports.
“I am announcing my intent to run again now to end speculation and stay focused on the business of leading Calgary,” Gondek added. “I’ve spoken with supporters across the city and will formally assemble a campaign team when the election period commences in the new year.”
Gondek’s re-election campaign will emphasize her record of proactive leadership, and her vision for a city that offers unparalleled opportunities for all its residents, while providing the services they rely on.
